Supported Printers for Desktop Printing
The Autoprint application works best with thermal receipt printers with a paper roll of size 80mm. These are the printers that give optimal results. You can still try to use other printers with different paper sizes as may be best for your store.
You can optionally use a printer that supports Wi-Fi. This way, you don’t need to have your printer connected to your PC. However, Wi-Fi thermal printers are usually twice as expensive as non-wireless printers.
Epson and Star are some of the most popular types of printers on the market.
Besides this requirement, there is no other limitation on what kind of printers to use.

Important Notes
Enable Automatic Printing On Desktop For Stores With Stations
GonnaOrder allows you to create stations for your store. You can have several stations, such as bar and kitchen, and have different elements of the order being visible to individual stations.
For more information on how to create individual stations, refer to the Manage Stations article.
The latest version of the Autoprint app supports automatic order printing for stores with stations. It allows you to assign a station to each printer. This means that only items assigned to categories on these stations will be printed by the individual printers. Here are steps to follow to automatically print incoming orders for stores with stations:
- Login to your account using your GonnaOrder credentials.
- From the list of the stores you have access to, select the store with stations that you want to enable automatic order printing.
- Select the printer that you want to send new orders for printing, from the printer list that appears. When you enable the printer, you will get a drop-down list of stations associated with that store.
- Once you choose a station, you will have configured the printer to automatically print incoming orders. However, the printer will only print items related to the selected station, not the whole order.
- You can also enable several printers to automatically print order items associated with different or same stations.
Change Autoprint Preferences
Define the Number of Print Copies
One feature of the application is that you can define the number of copies you want to print. For example, you may want a copy of the print for the kitchen and a copy for the delivery staff. To define this, click on the printer icon at the bottom right of the page and specify the number of copies on the top of the screen.
Switch Between Image and PDF File Types for Printing
The Autoprint application allows you to choose the file type to be used for printing. We support image and PDF printing which you can change using the file icon. If you are experiencing issues with PDF or image printing refer to the Print & Download an Order article.
Tips
- Image is set as the default printing option for the Autoprint app. Switch to PDF by clicking the PDF option.
- When you print large orders or change the font, you will only have the image printing option.
Mute Notification Sound
By default, there is a notification sound when a new order arrives and the application sends the order to the printer. In case you would like to turn off this sound, you can do this easily on the bottom left of the screen by clicking on the sound icon.
Validate the Connection Is Active
When the application is connected to your store, a green message appears on the bottom left of the screen, indicating that you have an Active Connection. This indicator may turn red if there is an error, indicating Connection is Lost. If the latter happens, log out from the application, close it, and then restart and log in again. Alternatively, you can use the Refresh button on the bottom right section of the application.
Refresh the Application
The Autoprint application can be refreshed by clicking on the Refresh button. This applies to cases where the connection is arbitrarily lost, and when you have made changes to your store. For example, you would need to refresh the application if you renamed your store or changed your GonnaOrder URL.
Logout and Remember Previous Settings
You may log out from the application and log back in with the same or different account. When you log out and log in again with the same account, the application will remember the printer settings used in the previous session. This way, you do not need to enable printing or set the number of printed copies again.
Running Autoprint App on Startup
The Autoprint app can now run on startup. The application will automatically open every time you start your computer. This eliminates the chances that you would forget to open autoprint and hence miss out on order printing and notifications.
You can enable this feature by selecting the Launch at startup checkbox on the app’s login screen.
Download & Install Autoprint App on Mobile Devices
GonnaOrder has a dedicated store administration application dubbed GoAdmin App. You can use the app to receive order notifications and automatically print new orders.
