Why Location ID Matters

Location ID matters a lot when it comes to synchronizing catalog with GonnaOrder since a product can have a default price and a price for a specific location. In this case, the item price will be imported based on the location ID from Epos Now. If the item has a location price, this price is the one that will be imported, and not the item’s default price. See more on how to synchronize your catalog with Epos Now.

  • Ensure that the Location ID is correctly set in your GonnaOrder store settings before starting the installation.
  • During the app installation, GonnaOrder attempts to detect the Epos Now store using the Location ID entered.
    If the detection is successful:

    1. Your GonnaOrder store is automatically updated with the Epos Now API key, confirming the connection.
    2. Orders from the store will now be published to Epos Now.

However, if the Location ID is missing or incorrect:

Connect Multiple Stores With the Same Epos Now App

You can connect multiple stores with the same Epos Now instance (i.e., same app and API keys). This streamlines the management of multiple stores, as you can manage them from the same Epos Now account. To connect another store to the same Epos Now account, follow these steps:

  1. On the new GonnaOrder store, go to Settings > Integrations > Epos Now and enter the correct Location ID that belongs to the same Epos Now account used by your first store.
  2. Next, go to the Epos Now Back Office and uninstall the GonnaOrder app.
  3. Still in Epos Now, reinstall the GonnaOrder app again (“Get Free App”). This refreshes the app and re-applies the connection to all GO stores that share the same Epos Now app credentials, including your newly added store.

This reinstallation process ensures that the newly added store along with all existing stores in the same multi-store setup are properly updated and connected to Epos Now.

What to Expect During the Process of Connecting Multiple Stores With the Same Epos Now Instance

  1. During the uninstall/reinstall, all connected GO stores will temporarily disconnect. Therefore, so orders will not be delivered to Epos Now for a short time.
  2. After the reinstall completes, all previously connected GO stores will automatically reconnect, and the new GO store configured with the Location ID will be connected as well.
  3. During the uninstall and reinstallation period, orders from all connected stores are temporarily not sent to Epos Now. Therefore, you should do this during off-peak hours to minimize impact.

FAQs on Connecting Multiple Stores With the Same Epos Now Account

Will my existing GonnaOrder stores lose their connection?

Temporarily yes. Only between the uninstall and reinstallation period. They reconnect automatically once the app is reinstalled.

No. When using one Epos Now app instance across multiple stores, the same app/API keys are reused.

Confirm the Location ID on the newly connected store is correct and belongs to the same Epos Now account; then repeat the uninstall/reinstall in Epos Now.

Setup a Tender ID

Epos Now uses Tender IDs to identify various types of payment methods or tenders, such as cash, gift cards, and credit/debit cards, used to complete transactions. This system helps track and record the tenders used to complete the payment of each transaction. As a result, it helps manage sales and conduct accurate reporting.

To get a Tender ID, login to your Epos Now account and go to Setup > Banking.

Navigate to Setup then Banking on Epos Now
Navigate to Setup the Banking on Epos Now

Select Tender Types from the Banking dropdown and click EDIT on the payment method (tender) you want to obtains its ID.

Synchronize Catalog with Epos Now

GonnaOrder allows you to import or update catalog from Epos Now POS. This simplifies the onboarding process for businesses that have already set up their catalog on Epos Now. You can opt to import:

  • The entire catalog. This involves synchronizing the entire catalog as listed on Epos Now.
  • Specific categories. This option allows you to select the categories you would like to synchronize. It comes in handy when you want to import only a specific set of categories to your GonnaOrder store.

Importing the Entire Catalog

If you have no existing catalog in your GonnaOrder store and wish create a catalog with all items and categories in your Epos Now, you can use the Synchronize Catalog feature to import the catalog as it is on Epos Now. The following details will be imported to your GonnaOrder store.

Categories, offer items and their images

Descriptions (short & long)

Item prices

Price variants

Option groups & links to offer items

Options, including images & links to option groups

External ids

Any other applicable catalog item details

To synchronize your entire Epos Now catalog with GonnaOrder, connect your GonnaOrder store with your Epos Now POS and click Synchronize Catalog without selecting any option under Sync Categories. The synchronization process may take up to 15 minutes depending on the size of your catalog.

Updating Existing Catalog with Synchronize Catalog

If you want to update an existing (initially imported) catalog, you can use the Synchronize Catalog feature under the Epos Now integration. This will fetch catalog updates from Epos Now and update your GonnaOrder catalog. However, unlike the previous scenario, where the catalog is imported as a whole, only two elements of your catalog will be updated.

Price changes on existing items

Any newly added catalog items (on Epos Now) are updated in full on your GonnaOrder catalog

Alternatively, you can update newly added Epos Now categories (not yet synched categories) on your GonnaOrder catalog by selecting them from the Sync Categories dropdown and then clicking Synchronize Catalog.

Note

  • If a category has child categories, then the parent category is also imported to your GonnaOrder store when you synchronize your catalog with Epos Now.
  • If a product option’s sale price excludes tax, the sale price imported to the store includes the tax applied to the option in the options group.
  • The item price imported may vary from the default item price on Epos Now. This happens when on Epos Now, a price is assigned to a location area ID. In this case, the price synced to your GonnaOrder store is the price for that location.

Disconnect Epos Now

You can always disconnect GonnaOrder from your Epos Now if and when you no longer need GonnaOrder to send new orders to your POS.

To disconnect GonnaOrder from Epos Now, click the Disconnect button under the Epos Now integration section. This will permanently disconnect your GonnaOrder account, and GonnaOrder will no longer send orders to your Epos Now system.
